Most of our Papillons are adopted as close as possible to their foster homes. Each foster parent gives their heart and love to the butterflies in their care and it is hard to part with them. If you are interested in a Papillon that is not in your home state, you may still send an application, however, every effort is first made to place the dogs within a reasonable distance. We request that the applicant is willing to come to the home to meet the dog and to be sure the match is a good one.

While not all homes are suitable for the physically and emotionally fragile dogs that come into our rescue, we tend to have more people willing to rescue our Papillons than we have dogs available. We are grateful for the kindness of so many people. There may be a delay in finding the right dog for you, and each application is carefully scrutinized. It may take 2 weeks or more before you hear from someone in our  volunteer organization.

Our adoption guidelines are stated preceeding the application page. Please read them carefully.  Any transportation expenses are the full responsibility of the adopter. Suggested adoption donation:
For healthy dogs up to two years of age: $350-$450
For healthy dogs between the ages of two and six:$ 250-$350
For healthy dogs between the ages of six and nine: $150-$250
Geriatric or "special needs" dogs: donation is set on a case-by-case basis

Not all our Papillons are listed on the webpage.

Description:
There was a big mill bust in GA the first week in March 2008. Six were Papillons and we got 3 of them. All of them came in so dirty and matted that they were trimmed closely.
Tracie's care has been costly and time consuming. Her skin was covered in sores and she had a fast growing cataract. I told her she was home - safe -for as long as it takes. She was so frightened and so uncomfortable, but she never complained except when I put her in a crate. The first time I heard her cry, I cried with her. She has been debarked and there is only a sad rasp left.

Today, Tracie's cataract has been removed and a lens was implanted. She sees everything. She needs only a single drop a day to keep her eye lubricated. We also had to do a lot of testing for allergies because of her skin. Good nutrition and consistant loving care combined with a change to a foster home in Fl in July of 2009 and Tracie has been doing extremely well with no signs of allergies. She has the beautiful full silky Papillon coat.

Because she has been held and handled so much during her eye surgery and taking care of her skin, Tracie has become a love bug. She likes to be held like a baby and to have her tummy rubbed. She is absolutely happiest with her human's attention.

She very much enjoys the daily walks with her foster mom and pek-a-poo foster brother. She also gets lots of attention from all the neighbors and kids with her friendliness.

Tracie is not the most beautiful as standards go for Papillons. Her warm brown eyes are needy and her body is a little longer and slender, but she still is beautiful. Her loving soul will touch yours. If you are looking for a heart that will be totally devoted to you, choose Tracie! She will be your best friend, always by your side, sleeping with her head on your shoulder. She needs someone who needs her. Please come and meet Tracie.
