Foster this dog on Facebook! Most of our Papillons are adopted as close as possible to their foster homes. Each foster parent gives their heart and love to the butterflies in their care and it is hard to part with them. If you are interested in a Papillon that is not in your home state, you may still send an application, however, every effort is first made to place the dogs within a reasonable distance. We request that the applicant is willing to come to the home to meet the dog and to be sure the match is a good one. While not all homes are suitable for the physically and emotionally fragile dogs that come into our rescue, we tend to have more people willing to rescue our Papillons than we have dogs available. We are grateful for the kindness of so many people. There may be a delay in finding the right dog for you, and each application is carefully scrutinized. It may take 2 weeks or more before you hear from someone in our volunteer organization. Our adoption guidelines are stated preceeding the application page. Please read them carefully. Any transportation expenses are the full responsibility of the adopter. Suggested adoption donation: For healthy dogs up to two years of age: $350-$450 For healthy dogs between the ages of two and six:$ 250-$350 For healthy dogs between the ages of six and nine: $150-$250 Geriatric or "special needs" dogs: donation is set on a case-by-case basis Not all our Papillons are listed on the webpage. Description:
Hi, my name is Stanley. I’ve been at my new foster home for a little over a month and I love it. It’s so nice and warm here and my foster mommy even gives me a nice soft blanket to cuddle up in at night. I love blankets. My favorite things to do are playing with my foster brother and sister, playing with toys, dancing and most of all I love to cuddle up in my foster mommy or daddy’s lap. When I’m outside I get to run and run as fast as I can. I’m even faster then my foster brother who is 7 years younger than I am. I may be an older dog but I sure don’t feel like it or act like it. I love to go for walks where I can sniff all the new and exciting things out there in the big world. I love to be around people I feel comfortable with because, you see my whole life (8 years) I was kept outside in the freezing cold and blistering heat. My owner’s told the rescue group that they loved me but they sure didn’t act like it. They even told them that I was “too wild” and they couldn’t keep me anymore. I think that was just an excuse to get rid of me because I was no longer needed for their purpose, which was breeding. The day I was rescued was the happiest day of my life. First I was in one foster home and then I went to a new one. My new foster mommy came to pick me up. That same day she took me to the doggie salon for a nice warm bubble bath and manicure. I felt like a prince when I arrived at my new foster home. When I arrived, to my surprise, greeting me at the door was my foster sister, Phe Phe, which I’ve been living with at my old foster home. I was so glad that she got to go with me. We are best friends. My new foster mommy and daddy are great. They let me snuggle in their laps and give them doggie kisses. I am definitely a lap dog. I know that this is not my forever home but it is sure nice for now. I’m looking forward to the day I get to “go home.” I’m waiting for you to come and see me! Love, Stanley Stanley is so much fun to be around. He has the cutest and most loving personality. He really does love to snuggle in your lap especially when you have a soft blanket. I realize that you are probably thinking, why would I want to adopt an older dog? Why not? He is a mature dog, listens to his foster parents and minds them. An older dog is much calmer and doesn’t require as much exercise. Stanley can keep himself occupied with his toys for hours when he isn’t snuggled in your lap. He loves to get a nice warm bath. He even loves the hair dryer and grooming. He loves any human contact. He will be your best friend within seconds of meeting him.
