Abby
Precious little Abby was turned into a vet to be euthanized when she was too old to continue to have puppies. She was eleven years old and had recently had a litter, according to the vet. She was about 3.5 pounds, blind and deaf, according to the vet. Lyn got her and her daughter Sweetie from the vet. Sweetie was 9 years old and was also used as a puppy making machine. Sweetie was adopted through Pap911 to a wonderful lady. Abby was adopted by Lyn and John. The day that Abby came to the Marietta Dog House, she could only take a step or 2 before falling. Her muscles were so atrophied that she could barely walk. After good food, lots of love and exercise, Abby was walking all over the house and yard. It was also obvious that Abby was not deaf (maybe a little hard of hearing). Abby had just stopped reacting to sound until Lyn and John came into her life. She loved Lyn more than she loved any living creature in the world. Abby had so much love to give and I feel very privileged that she gave so much love to me. I wish that you all could have known Abby personally. Abby has been ill the last few weeks diagnosed with a cancer in her intestinal system. Lyn and John had been feeding her with a dropper while she was lying in their arms. Lyn just called me and told me that Abby died today. I know that she is running, jumping, seeing, hearing, playing and pain-free at Rainbow Bridge, but that does not stop my tears from falling while I write this e-mail.

The Rainbow Bridge
There's a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of it's many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet passes, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. Old and frail animals are made whole. They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing. They are not with that special person who loved them so much on earth. But the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together for eternity... -Anonymous

Amy-Angel
Amy-Angel went to Rainbow Bridge on 7/2/05. There are no words that can describe how we feel - you had to have met her -she was so tiny - but somehow she radiated something that made everyone notice - I kept trying to capture a bit of her grace and classiness - that haunting, other-worldly expression in her eyes in my pictures - and that beautiful loving smile that she had - and her wonderful disposition - always, everything she did was trying to please and be helpful....I always called her my "borrowed angel". Elke,Donn, Mickey, Mindy and especially Lexy (Camilla) ...who really misses Amy-Angel

Max
We had to say our final goodbyes to Max today. He went peacefully. Everyone at the vet's office was very kind. Many were crying; even the vet had to wipe away a tear; they said he was their favorite patient. He really was a gentle soul who rescued us just as much as we rescued him. He always greeted everyone who came to our home with a big woof and wag of his tail, then settled himself across the hallway as our guardian of peace, our beloved "roadblock," who easily took up that much room in our hearts as well. There is an empty space in the hallway now...yet our hearts are full of wonderful memories. Godspeed, Max. We'll see you at the Rainbow Bridge. In Memory of our Beloved Mellow Max, 12/22/97–7/23/09 xo, Joan, Tom & Lainey Melbourne, FL
