I love the papillon, although I haven't seen any in person. We must not have many here in Mi. I live in Hemlock which is near Sag. If you know of someplace near here could you let me know. Thanks.

I came across your website and have read almost everything on it. Keep up your good work. I've been in love with Papillons for 5 years and have a 1 1/2 year old girl currently. I'll be in touch with you as I want to help you with this work. Help these little precious ones; they are such blessings!

What a great web site. We have a tiny female pap-11 years old. I think maybe she was an abused dog as she sure seems different after the 6 years we've had her. We love her so much. Keep up the good work!

Hello all! Came across this page by accident while browsing for a Papillon friend for my Papillon Izzie. I wanted to tell everyone what a special breed these little gems are. Izzie was a puppy mill puppy that I acquired from a local pet store. I saw her behind the glass and just knew she was supposed to be mine. They dubbed her the “flying nun” because of her black and white coloration and the biggest ears I have ever seen on a Papillon. I took her out and played with her but all she could do was lay on the floor and scoot. I told the associate she couldn’t walk and she scoffed at me and said it was because in the cages the smaller puppies feet would go through the grates making them scared to walk. I knew that was a line of bull and had my best friend who worked in the kennel look into the situation. It turned out to have nothing to do with the grates and she would have to be sent back to the “breeder” and be put to sleep. After I found out she was going to be euthanized for not being able to walk. I knew I had to save her. The only way the pet store would give her up was if I paid full price for her, so I did. Needless to say broke at 22, my parents were not very happy that I paid full price for a "bum dog". I just knew I could help her though. Her back legs didn't work at all and when she ate or pottied she would do so by hand stands. Slowly I worked her legs I would massage them and make them “run” while she laid on my lap. And sure enough she started to use them more and more and next thing you know she was running! Izzie is now over a year old and the best dog I could ever ask for. She may not walk like other dogs (she hops like a rabbit) but, she can dance, jump, high-five, low-five, sit, lay and even sneeze on command! After a series of x-rays we discovered that she has three deformed vertebrae and suffered a severe broken hip (all before I got her at 9 weeks old!). The vet says it’s a miracle she can even stand and use the bathroom, let alone do what she does everyday. She may not be perfect, but she has a new lease on life thanks to one person willing to give her the chance she deserved. If you believe miracles can happen, look at Izzie :)
